The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s annual conference and exhibition is THE top healthcare IT event—some call it the “superbowl” event for Health Information Technology (HIT). New Orleans was host to the more than 34,000 attendees and vendors that embarked the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center March 4-6, 2013.
The Quest Diagnostics Booth (#3927) showcased our full suite of Care360® HIT Solutions and was located on the main aisle of lobby E which drew an extensive volume of prospects, clients, consultants and PR visits. Attendees enjoyed a series of thought leadership industry presentations in the Healthcare IT Theater section of the booth Sponsored by our ChartMaxx Enterprise Content Management (ECM) division. The theater held twelve presentations including the Quest Diagnostics Health IT solutions, general healthcare IT topics by key opinion leaders, insights into ChartMaxx from current customers, and a panel on mobile health (for the full list of presentations, click here).
Karl West, Vice President of Information Systems and Chief Information
Security Officer of Intermountain Healthcare, captured a great crowd of IT executives to listen to his presentation about bridging the data gaps to reduce costs and improve the quality of care with ChartMaxx and SOA.
Another one of our more popular presentations was the mobile health panel “Mobile Health – Value and Impact Mobile Health Apps are Playing on Care Collaboration”. Richard C. Schwabacher, MPH of Quest Diagnostics Mobile Health Platform moderated the panel discussion with Dr. Travis Good of HISTalk Mobile, Appian Senior Solutions Consultant Dominic Im, and ChartMaxx Product Management Manager Bob Weiss. The panel started with a visit from the office of the ONC Coordinator (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology), announcing that the Quest Diagnostics patient app Gazelle and Care360 are adopting the Project Blue Button standards. The ONC intro was then followed with a live demonstration by Schwabacher. Quest Diagnostics launched the Gazelle Personal Health App in 2010 to empower patients to access their clinical laboratory information, and has been an early supporter of Project Blue Button and Project Blue Button Plus. The panel continued by identifying how the market for mobile health has grown immensely, what it impacts and some specific examples, including ChartMaxx Mobile Apps powered by Appian’s Worksocial software.
Care360 formally announced the ChartMaxx and Appian partnership to bring next generation Business Process Management (BPM) to the Healthcare Industry.
The sharing of ideas and partnerships through thought leadership presentations and discussions were the focus of the Quest Diagnostics
